There is only one category. Any one can compete.

The items should be either a Telugu film based dance, folk dance, a private dance with Telugu lyrics or a dance set to instrumental music such as fusion music.

Pure classical items from Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam or any other classical forms will not be considered.

The item should be no more than 5 minutes in length.

Screening is done online by a panel of experienced judges. Emphasis will be given to "natural talent" of the participant. Costumes and other paraphernalia will not be taken into consideration.

The top 8 entries will be selected for the semifinals which will take place on Saturday, July 7 between 2-5 PM

Three contestants will move to the finals which will be conducted on the main stage during the Sunaada Vinodini segment on Sunday, July 8.

The winner, the Star Dancer ATA 2012 will be selected. He/she will perform during the prime time on Sunday, July 8.

ATA will not be responsible for the contestant’s registration, travel and other expenses.
Entry submission procedure:

Upload the video of your performance in websites, such as youtube.com, mediashare.com or any other secure site; and make a note of the URL of your uploaded video.

Click on the entry form given on the event announcement page, fill-in the details accurately and submit your entry.
Notification to the short-listed performances:
The top eight performers selected for the semifinals will be notified by June 5, 2012. They are requested to be prepared to perform two items, one for the semifinals and another for the finals, should they be selected.
Note: If your entry did not get selected, you may not receive any further notification.
Disclaimer: ATA 2012 cultural committee reserves the right to the entire selection process. No inquiries from any of the contestants or their families will be entertained regarding the adjudication process.
